Cheap exercise equipment is a good alternative to joining a local gym, who's monthly fees can really cut into your budget. If you are just starting out though, there are a lot of fitness products that you can buy that don't cost a lot, but can give you quite a return in terms of fitness.

For the purposes of this article we are going to consider cheap exercise equipment that you can buy for under $50. With just fifty bucks, there are some great beginner items that can get you on the path to getting in (or staying in) shape. So whether you are wanting to lose weight, tone up, build muscle, or just improve your overall physical condition, using the products below combined with our recommended exercises will help you achieve a simple, fun, and effective full body workout.

First up on our list is the kettlebell. Kettlebells have become extremely popular for conditioning as well as resistance training. Their main appeal is their simplicity. With a single kettlebell you can an amazing workout by performing just a couple basic movements a few times per week. The best overall kettlebell exercise is the kettlebell swing. Performing swings are a high intensity exercise which will burn fat and improve your cardiovascular function, as well as provide you with some resistance training for your muscles, particularly along the posterior of your body

If you are really concerned with increasing your muscle mass, then we have two products which, if used together, can form the basis of an entire muscle building regimen without ever having to leave your home. All you need to be able to build a great looking upper body is a home pull up bar and a pair of pushup handles. Body weight exercises are great for strength, and these two items just really allow you to intensify your body weight workouts. Include a few sets of air squats and lunges a few times a week and you will start to notice your body getting ripped.

If you are really interested in amping up your workout routine using these products then we would recommend to mix in some cardio training to your regimen, the best being high intensity interval training. This is what sprinters do and as you know they have fantastic bodies. This will allow you to get in some good cardio as well as resistance training for a balanced program.

Another one of the more effective all around pieces of cheap exercise equipment would be a good set of resistance bands. Now a set of resistance bands won't get you the same results in terms of weight training as the pushup or pullup combo mentioned above, but it is a great overall workout for developing some good muscle tone and strength. They are perfectly paired with a form of cardio training like walking, jogging, swimming, or whatever other moderate cardio you enjoy most. This is a good regimen if you are just looking to shape up a bit and will give you a great overall level of physical fitness.
